Waste and Resource Action Programme – WRAP had made its existence in 2000 and it began to continue its operations as one of the UK’s waste management strategies. Basically, this was developed to serve a purpose, its mission is to create markets for materials that are no longer used, considered to be wasteful by users. For instance, phone handsets which are laying idle go out of usage and this is creating lot of economic loss and this could be well understood when a cost of these phones are calculated in random.
This is one services that can be relaid on, for seeking advises by local authorities. It spawns over the UK and through their services they do their best influencing public behaviour. The intention of WRAP is to change the minds of general public towards proper utilisation of reduce, reuse, and recycle of recyclable materials. Reduce, reuse and recycle is a simple formulae that can fit into any conversation of recyclable products.
Many phone recyclers in the UK, are making a significant contribution in field of recycling and their number is increasing year on year. In almost every phone campaigning, people are advised for selling mobile phones for cash to make some extra money to meet expenses in tough times. Identifying a good phone recycler in order to sell mobile phone is not so difficult these days as mobile phone consumers need to do a bit of research work to investigate, which phone recycler can put recyclable products to recycle with great safety on following norms laid by European Union.
Setting aside phone recycling activities for a while, a good news for recycling companies engaged with recycling activities for recyclable products. European Union has agreed to provide a financial support to WRAP. Waste and Resource Action Programme will be getting state aid and this has been made possible with help of EU and Competition team of International law firm SJ Berwin. UK permanent representation to the European Union( UKREP), represents the UK to look into the interests of the EU and also care taker for the department of Business Innovation and skills (BIS).
A huge fund of £50 million extension to the WRAP Scheme, will be pumped into. SJ Berwin says that the UK is fifth in the row to have received this aid in past eight years. However, the Commission of the WRAP scheme’s will have to clear environmental benefits under the Commission’s new Environmental Guidelines. And WRAP considers this move as a rewarding in making a small contribution towards increasing the rate of recycling in the UK. With every one’s eyes on the working of WRAP Scheme, it is quite interesting to notice the developments in the field of recycling, time to come.
