Also look to see it comes with a CD rom drive, laptop carry case etc. It is a good idea to check what accessories it comes with and what, if any you need to buy before your laptop arrives.

If you are looking to buy a laptop on a budget then buying a refurbished one is the ideal solution, especially if you pick one that comes with a guarantee from the company you are buying from.
